American Alarm Acquires Abington Security Company
Arlington, Mass. — American Alarm and Communications today announced it has completed the acquisition of Electralarm Security Systems of Abington, Massachusetts. Founded in 1964 by Paul D’Amato, Electralarm serves some 500 homes, businesses and educational institutions in the greater Abington area.
Electralarm’s installation, service and monitoring functions will be folded into American Alarm’s extensive operational network across Massachusetts and Southern New England.
“We appreciate the high-quality company that Paul and his family have built and operated for so many years,” said Louis Sampson, Chief Financial Officer at American Alarm. “We look forward to serving their customers, and their communities, in that same tradition of excellence.”
A life-long resident of Abington, Paul D’Amato will retire from the company, while his son Paul “Chip” D’Amato, who’s been the lead technician at Electralarm for several years, will stay on with American Alarm working in a similar role.
“Over the years we’ve grown and adapted to new technologies, always striving to provide the best services for our customers,” the elder D’Amato said. “My family and I have been thinking about the future for a while and how best to make sure our customers’ security needs are met going forward. That led us to American Alarm. It’s a great company.”
The monitoring for all Electralarm Security Systems customers is now being done by the team at American Alarm’s UL Certified 24-hour Security Command Center in Arlington, Massachusetts.
