Paxton was first settled by Nipmuc natives who utilized the nearby Turkey Hill Brook for its rich soil and the animals it attracted for hunting. As European settlers came to the area during the mid eighteenth century, they began building mills along the Turkey Hill Brook, because of the rapid elevation drop which powered the mills. Five mills were built along this mill before the industry closed. The town was incorporated in 1765 and named after Charles Paxton.
Today, Paxton is a predominantly rural town, with a population of around 5,000. The recreation and academics make the town a desirable town.

Paxton Resident Works With American Alarm to Design A Full Customized Security Package For Their Home Renovation
We were recently engaged by a customer in Paxton who embarked on a major renovation project for their single-family home. During construction, we worked with this customer and the contractor to design and install a complete security system that included intrusion protection (burglar alarm) and a monitored smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detection system. Unlike stand-alone smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, American Alarm systems are hard-wired and monitored by 24-Hour Security Command Center. That way, if there is a problem when no one is home, or when the occupants are asleep at night and potentially overcome by smoke or carbon monoxide, our team will react within seconds of an alarm and get the right help on the way.
