Westborough was first permanently settled in the 1670’s as a part of Marlborough. Prior to colonists arrival in the area, natives thrived in the area, with evidence of their settlements dating to 7,000 B.C. Up until the seventeenth century, natives would make a seasonal migration to hunt and live on the lands in Westborough on what is now known as Old Connecticut Path.
After settlers started coming to the area, Westborough began thriving as a community. Many farms, mills, and businesses emerged in the area. As the town grew, new industry was brought into the town with the expansion of the railroad which ran through town. Among the new factories that came to town during the nineteenth century were, bicycles, hats, shoes, sleighs and textiles. Today, although some industry remains, Westborough is predominantly a residential community. Through its great public schools and wooded lands, this town is a gem in central Massachusetts.

Due to the rural nature of the town, much of Westborough’s recreation revolves around the local lakes, rivers and woods in town. Set on nearly 200 acres, Lake Chauncy is one of the focal points of the town. With the ability for boating, fishing and swimming, this lake attracts many locals every year. Also located in town is the Westborough Charm Bracelet Trail System. This twenty-eight mile trail loop runs all through the town and connects much of the protected lands located throughout the town. These trails run along local bodies of water, to the schools to the fields and even to the different neighborhoods in town, making it frequently and easy to navigate.

For this family in Westborough, who live in a colonial home at the end of a long driveway, their security system was 15 years old (had been installed by another company) and was in dire need of upgrading. We helped them design a new, state-of-the-art system, which in addition to the traditional elements of fire and burglar protection, added carbon monoxide and low temperature detection to guard against winter freeze-ups.
