Based in New England since 1971, we’ve worked in the Webster area for decades. We know the landscape and we have good relationships with local police and fire officials. Our team of employees (200 strong and growing) live in the communities we serve, this means our customers are our neighbors.
The first permanent settlement in what is now Webster, came in 1713. Originally settled as part of Dudley and Oxford, in 1832 the area seceded forming its own town named Webster. When the area was first settled, it was known for being a farming and manufacturing town. The large bodies of water the French River and Lake Webster, provided an excellent foundation for the growth and support of the town. Not only did they provide arable land for farming, but it also provided as source of food with a wealth of fish. The river also provided sites for mills to be built for manufacturing.

Due to the rural nature of Webster, most of the recreation in town revolves around the outdoors. The largest body of water in town is Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg, also known as Lake Chaubunagungamaug, or Lake Webster for short. The five mile long lake is home to many recreation activities such as boating, fishing, sailing, swimming and waterskiing. Also located on Lake Webster is Indian Ranch Concert Venue. Known as the “Country Music Capital of New England,” this site has hosted concerts for over sixty years. Many notable acts have played at Indian Ranch including Brad Paisley, The Charlie Daniels Band, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Willie Nelson among other artists.

In the wake of the tragic Station Nightclub fire, new regulations have been imposed for business fire alarm and sprinkler systems in nightclubs and lounges. While aimed primarily at commercial operations, in some cases those regulations can affect private social clubs. The cost of a sprinkler system can be prohibitive for a small, non-profit organization, so in many communities, like Webster, some private social clubs are eligible for a waiver from the sprinkler regulation, if they have a state-of-the-art commercial fire alarm system in place, with fire extinguishers properly placed throughout the premises. American Alarm recently worked with such a club in Webster to design, install and monitor a fire alarm system that allowed the club to meet the criteria for a waiver and continue operating in a safe environment.
