American Alarm Group Grows in Rhode Island

Arlington, Mass — American Alarm and Communications Inc. (AACI) today announced the acquisition of P & J Alarm of West Greenwich, R.I., adding more than 1,000 residential and commercial customers to its security and life-safety services coverage for Southern New England.

“We welcome the P & J Alarm team to our family of companies. Together, we are looking forward to serving the security needs of P & J customers,” said Wells Sampson, President of American Alarm and Communications.

P & J Alarm was founded in 1978 by Judy and Paul Santa Sr. When Paul Sr. passed away in 1993 Judy continued to grow the business while also raising the couple’s three children, including Paul Jr. who works for the company. “This was the right time for me and our company to set a new course for the future,” Judy Santa said. “By joining the American Alarm group, our customers will see the benefits of being served by a larger team, but will retain the personalized touch of a local, family business, which was very important to me.”

P & J Alarm will merge its operations with Electronic Alarms of Warwick R.I., which is AACI’s flagship company in Rhode Island. All P & J Alarm employees will remain with the company and there will be no disruption in security services for any customers.

American Alarm & Communications has had a significant presence in Rhode Island for more than 20 years. In the early 1990s, AACI acquired Electro Systems of Fall River, Mass. which served numerous customers in the Ocean State, with a concentration in the Newport area. Electronic Alarms joined the AACI group in 2012.
